Indian Railways, called as the 'Lifeline of the Nation' with a history of 150 years is known to be the largest railway network in Asia and world's largest railway system under a single management, which offers various career growth opportunities to their employees. Recruitment in Indian Railways
The Indian Railway has two boards such as Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) and Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) and it releases many recruitment notifications for both gazette and non-gazette Posts. · Group 'A' Posts: Group ‘A’ posts is carried out by UPSC-selected through Civil Service Exam, Engineering Service Exam, and Combined Medical Service Examination.Besides Engineering Service Examination, a Special Class Railway Apprenticeship Examination (SCRA) is also held for the selection of mechanical engineers. HSC or equivalent with PCM, is the minimum qualification for SCRA exam.
· Group 'B' Posts: Group B post are not for direct recruitment it’s provide opportunities for Group C employee they can apply for these posts.
· Group 'C' Posts: Technical and Non-Technical cadre posts like Clerk, Station Master, Ticket Collector, Commercial Apprentice, Traffic Apprentice, Engineering posts (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Signal & Telecommunication) etc.
· Group 'D' Posts: These posts in various disciplines include Trackman, Helper, Assistant Points Man, Cleaner, Gunman, Peon etc.
The railway category normally has two sections for selection like technical cadre and the non-technical cadre.
Technical Cadre:a)Technical Cadre appoints graduates for technical sections such as Technical, Mechanical, Civil, Telecom, Signaling and many more. b) The eligibility condition is that the applicant must be between 18 to 30 years with a Graduate Degree and Typing Skill. c) Age of candidates should not be less than 18 years and not more than 33 years along with a 10 +2 Math Physics, ITI, Diploma or Degree in computer science engineering, electrician and data networking.
For Non- Technical Category:a)Civil Services Exam is conducted for selection in Grade C services which include Assistant Station Master, Clerks, Ticket Collector and more. b) The eligibility condition is that the applicant must be between 18 to 30 years with a 10th/ 12th/Graduation Certificate. c) In both these categories SC and ST have a relaxation of up to 5 years and OBC for 3 years.
Railway Recruitment Board Sr. Section Engineer (SSE):Through RRB SSE Recruitment, the board wants to hire skilled and willing applicants for Senior Section Engineer vacancy.
