Psychology as a major subject has garnered attention over the past few years. With new career opportunities emerging in the field of psychology, more students are flocking to universities abroad for a psychology degree at all educational levels.

A psychology degree is regarded as very useful and versatile. After pursuing a bachelor’s in psychology, a wide range of career opportunities are at your disposal ranging from clinical psychology to education to forensic science, etc. Psychology as a subject lies on the nexus of sciences and social sciences. Ideally, for pursuing a degree in Psychology from abroad, you need to have a strong understanding of science and mathematics as well as a broad view and base in social sciences. For undergraduate studies, the requirement in sciences would be broadly categorized by the kind of degree the university is offering. For instance, a BA or Bachelor of Arts would ideally accept a student with a foundation in humanities and arts while a BSc or Bachelor of Science in Psychology would ideally look for subjects like sciences – biology, organic chemistry, and mathematics.

In India, psychology as a course is not given much weightage in the field of research as well as academic excellence. While Indian Universities are widening their horizons and are catching up to the demand of young psychologists and opening up the demand, yet, students are opting for foreign universities, mainly due to academic excellence and global rankings. So, if you are planning for Psychology as a career beyond the academia, you should look up courses abroad.

Universities in many different countries offer top-notch psychology programs, allowing study abroad students to study with the greatest thinkers-about-thought in a whole range of different places. Studying psychology abroad will help you grow as a student, as you'll be exposed to the influence of different cultural norms on the subject.
