With increased internet usage over the last few years, the digital and social media landscape in India has witnessed a paradigm shift.   1. DETECTIVE

If you are interested in snooping on someone & also earning out of it, become a private detective. Private Detectives offer investigative & protective services to clients. The work in this profession is diverse - conducting background checks on businesses, individuals or investigating witnesses, locating debtors, investigating insurance fraud, real estate dealing and even pre-matrimonial screening. People are even employing the services of detectives to check on their daughter’s or son’s relationships. Moreover, personal threats are being investigated by private detectives.

As computing is widespread & Internet crimes have also increased, there is a demand for persons trained in computer security.  Hacking, Firewalls, Encryption, Remote Access as well as some fundamental knowledge of hardware is necessary to work with computers.

Typically, a detective would be collecting evidence by trailing, photographing, video recording, questioning & then report accordingly to the client. Forensic experts, Handwriting specialists & technical personnel also work in a team to crack cases.

However, there is little standardized education available though some private institutes are there. Hands-on experience has become the key to become a detective.

Entrepreneurship or running your own agency is also a good option. The going ratio for pre-matrimonial surveillance is Rs. 35,000 – Rs. 40,000 & for pre-employment screening is Rs. 50,000 onwards. So, new career opportunities are available in this field. Fitness consultants work in gyms, big hotels, health clubs, Fitness centre, spas, tourist and even cruise liners. After gaining some experience you could choose to run your own fitness centre.

A fitness consultant is an individual who is well versed with the human anatomy & different aspect of muscle strength & tone. He would assess his clients & design appropriate fitness progarmmes for them. Programmes would include exercises (aerobics/weight training) dietary guidelines & periodic check-ups.

Professional training would equip one to design specific programmes for different people-taking into account their age, lifestyle & health parameters.

As gyms and health clubs offer a whole variety of exercise routines such as weightlifting, aerobics, karate, kickboxing, spin cycling, yoga, pilates or tai chi along with Yoga, and Naturopathy, you can choose to specialize in the areas you are comfortable with.

One can pursue Bachelor’s in Physical Education or else go in for Post-Graduate programmes at the Sports Authority of India or even do short term courses from academies like Reebok’s. Starting salaries depends on what you have done and would range from 10,000 to 25,000 per month. But there is no limit for growth. In this profession, you would be fit, meet all kinds of people and can build up a name for yourself.

If you can have people in splits in seconds & really want to do something different, the go for this area. A knack for humour and writing is essential to be a successful comedian. A number of options like mimicry, plays, serials, theatre, films, stage-shows, poetry sessions exist for individuals who have a feel for comedy. No institute can really train you. There has to be an inherent ability to succeed in this profession. However, you should be well-versed with a language and its vocabulary.
