7 Most Affordable Countries to Study Abroad

  1.  Norway 

    Public Universities in Norway impart premium education at no cost, regardless of your country of origin. Tuition payments for undergrad and postgrad degrees in Germany’s public universities are waived for all students, regardless of their nationality. They do, however, charge a nominal fee for master’s courses that are not aligned to the same field as your undergrad. Germany has a lower cost of living compared to numerous countries.

    Tuition Fees : EUR 125- 1,500 per semester ( Approx INR 20,000- 2 Lacs per year)

    Living Cost : EUR 650- 800 per month (Approx INR 6.5 – 8 Lacs per year) 

  3.  Netherlands

    Netherlands is considered to be one of the best study abroad countries for Indian students. The provision of obtaining knowledge beyond academics by providing practical experience with relatively inexpensive tuition fees grants an edge over other countries. Depending on the university and the degree, students can expect to pay anywhere from EUR 1900 to EUR 15,000 every year.  In terms of living costs (which include housing and other essential living expenditures), students can expect to pay between EUR 800 and 1200 per month on average, depending on the student and the region.

  4. Turkey

    An introduction to new cultures from both East and West, resulting in a perfect blend of European and Oriental influences. Turkey’s public institutions offer incredibly low-cost education. Cankaya University, Hacettepe University, Sabanci University, and Bikent University are some of the best universities in Turkey. In most cases, international students must pay between 100 and 4000 EUR per academic year.

  5. Spain 

    Spain is considered to possess the most affordable tuition costs in Europe. Popularly, known for imparting excellent education at a low cost, making it a popular choice among Indian students. University of Barcelona, Pompeu Fabra University, Autonomous University of Barcelona, Complutense University of Madrid, and others are some of the most well-known universities in the city.  

    Tuition Fees: EUR 680- 18,000 (Approx INR 50,000-3.6 Lacs) per year

    Living Expense: EUR 900-1200 (Approx INR 78,888- 1,05,184) per month

  6. Austria

    Home to beautiful scenery and world’s finest institutions. Austrian universities offer a high academic standard as well as student-centred classrooms and teaching methods, all at a very affordable tuition fee. At public universities, non-EU/EEA students will have to pay on average 726.72 plus 20 EUR per semester for tuition fees. Students from developing nations are exempted from paying tuition fees at several public universities.   7.  Czech Republic

    Public universities are free for all students regardless of nationality if the mode of teaching is in Czech. However, if you choose a program taught in English there is going to be minimal fees. The cost of your education will vary substantially based on the university you attend and the major you pursue. The few top universities are Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, Masaryk University, University of Pardubice, University of Finance and Administration. 

    Tuition Fees: EUR 0 – 18,500 (Approx INR 0 – 16,21,599) per year

    Living Cost: EUR 300-650 ( Approx INR 26,296 – 56,975) per month
